Cutting and Building Process
Here at ourcades, all of our cabinets are now CNC routed with precision. With our massive 14′ x 5′ industrial CNC router, every cut is super clean. Made out of 3/4 melamine-coated HDF, and our unique double-layer side panels make it so our cabinets are extremely sturdy and built to last.
Vinyl
All of our vinyls are laminated to protect them from wear and tear. The control panels and marquee feature a textured laminate, while the side panels and additional vinyl sections are laminated with high gloss for added durability and shine.
Acrylic Control Panel Protector
All of our custom series arcades come with our clean-looking acrylic control panel protector. This means we first take the control panel and apply the laminated vinyl. Afterwards, we use 1/8″ cast acrylic on top of the vinyl before installing the controls. This protects the vinyl for years and creates a really cool glowing effect if LED buttons are selected.
Screen Protector
To ensure the arcade looks complete and clean, we use black ABS cut to fill and space that the screen doesn’t fill. We then apply 1/8 cast acrylic on top of both the screen and the ABS.
Hardware
Buttons
We offer a few different options for buttons such as LED or Non LED.
Non LED Buttons
- We use high quality Suzo Happ or Industrias Lorenzo non led buttons with Zippy micro switches.
LED Buttons
- All LED Buttons – These buttons are completely translucent and offer many different colors. If you want the glow effect on the control panel these complete that effect perfectly. Paired with zippy microswitches.
- Eclipse LED Buttons – These LED buttons have a transparent ring and a black plunger and creates the same glow effect like the fully transparent buttons. Paired with zippy microswitches.
- Black Ring LED Buttons – These buttons have a black ring and a transparent plunger. Although they look great these buttons eliminate the glowing effect on the acylic control panel protector. We can also do these same buttons with Gold or Chrom rings. Paired with zippy microswitches. “If you would like the chrome ring or gold ring variation please include a note in the notes section during checkout.”
RGB Addressable LED Buttons
- The RGB addressable LED buttons are really neat! We use a few variations depending on the order. Either Ultimarc Goldleaf RGB Buttons or Industrias Lorenzo RGB Buttons. These buttons actually are lit using a software called LED Blinky this software tells the buttons what color to light or animate. By default these buttons will light random colors with the pre configured built in animations. But it’s also possible to create animations. “Requires customer to purchase the software from LED Blinky which is right around $30.”
Addressable LED Controls
This upgrade makes any arcade stand out by making the buttons animate instead of being always on. The way it works is we install LED blinky on the PC. This software tells the buttons when to light up and how to animate. There are tons of options the customer can set to there specific prefrence. Such as animations, when to light the controls, light specific buttons for that game, list controls, as many other options. If you selected the RGB Addressable LED buttons it does the same exact effects as above but the buttons are lit up 1000s of colors instead of the color selected during the purchase.
We setup the software but to get the full version the customer has to purchase the software directly from LEDBlinky.com which is a zip file that will need extracted into the LED Blinky folder installed.
Joysticks
We offer a few different options for joysticks such as LED or Non LED and Motorized.
Non LED Joysticks
- Non LED Bat Style Joysticks – Our non led bat style joysticks are 8 way and either Suzo Happ or Industiras Lorenzo paired with zippy microswitches
- Non LED Balltop Joysticks – We use zippy 8 Way joysticks paid with zippy microswitches
LED Joysticks
- LED Balltop Joysticks are a great way to bring some additional lighting to the build. These joysticks can also be controlled with LED Blinky just like the buttons.
Motorized 4 to 8 Way Joysticks
- We use ultimarc ServoStick Joysticks. Why would these be needed? There are many games that only need a 4 way joystick but there are also games that use a 8 way joystick. While its possible to still use a 8 way joystick on games that use 4 way joysticks some customers find it hard to hit those 4 directions while playing games such as pac-man. These joysticks are installed on player one and two and allows the customer to switch from 4 to 8 way with the press of a button.

Please keep in mind that playing emulating multiple games or systems there may be times that a controller, keyboard, mouse, guitar, or steering wheel and pedals.
Sound System
All of our stand-up custom series arcades come equipped with an amplifier and two 4″ speakers. The unique hidden amp design ensures that the amplifier is discreetly hidden with only the knobs visible, keeping it out of reach from smaller children when mounted on the speaker panel above the screen.
Trackball
When you choose to add a trackball to your order, we will include the popular flush mount Ultimarc U-Trak LED Trackball. This option is highly popular for customers who want to play games such as Golden Tee.
Spinner
This option adds an Ultimarc Spin Trak spinner to the control panel and enables gameplay that requires left and right spinner movement, with Tempest being a popular example.
Light Guns
All of our custom series arcades are able to use light guns. Our systems are pre-configured to use either Ultimarc Aim Trak light guns and Sinden light guns. Currently, we are not offering light guns, but they can be easily purchased from Ultimarc or Sinden. If you do plan on using light guns, be sure to add the external USB port option to easily connect the light guns.
4 Way Joysticks
When adding a 4 way joystick you can select what placement you would like. You can do either above player one or player two. This is a good option if you like to play games such as Pac man or other games that originally used 4 way joysticks.
The stock joysciks installed on the arcade are 8 way unless you select the motorized joysticks. If the motorized joysicks are selected this option isnt needed.
Subwoofer
Many people wonder if a subwoofer is necessary. While it is not essential, adding a subwoofer can greatly enhance the sound system. Our 8″ subwoofer is designed to be easily controlled with the amp mounted on the speaker panel.
LED Cabinet Lighting
We use RGBIC smart LED strips for our LED Cabinet lighting. Installed under the control panel and at the base of the arcade, these strip lights can be controlled by the mounted controller that has built-in colors as well as different sound-activated animations. Or take it further and install the Govee smart app to create different animations, light different segments, or even program these lights to Alexa.
Pixelcade LED Marquee
Our LED Marquee changes the normal marquee from a vinyl that is always the same image to a classic LED panel marquee. This marquee changes and displays system logos as well as game logos. Its also possible to create your own art to display. Please visit Pixelcade for additional information.
After You Purchase
Vinyl Design Process
All of our Custom Series arcade cabinets include a custom-designed vinyl. Shortly after an order is placed, we will reach out to you with details for the vinyl design and any ideas that you have. We will then create a theme based on these ideas and send over a sample for approval. Once approved, we proceed with printing from our partner GameOnGraphix, who have been in the printing business for many years.
Un-Crating (Freight Shipped)
If you selected freight shipped, the arcade will arrive in a box truck and will be securely attached to a skid with a crate built around it. Please thoroughly inspect the crate for any damages, and if you notice any, contact us at 574-355-3530 before signing for delivery. While rare, we always strive to ensure that our customers receive their system in working order. Freight shipments are covered for the full value of the item, making it crucial to check the load before accepting delivery. Once a customer signs for a damaged shipment, the carrier assumes it arrived in good condition and will no longer cover any damages.
Please be sure to view our Uncrating Guide prior to trying to open or move the arcade.
Average Wait Time
The usual wait time once an order is placed is 4-6 weeks but varies based on the number of orders, number of vinyl design revisions, and availability of some components. We work on getting orders out as quickly as possible without rushing orders resulting in reduced quality. Keep in mind we don’t have an assembly line and mass produce our arcades. We are very hands-on and work directly with the customer during every step of the build, which takes time. We enjoy catering and working directly with the customer, building a relationship that makes them feel like a valued customer instead of just another order.
